Day 69: Beach Eats (MDR)

Another day, another food truck: we’re bringing it back to the Westside with Beach Eats at Mother’s Beach! Every Thursday night from 5-9pm, a rotating selection of trucks hang out by the park which has easy parking and is pet-friendly.

This week, we’re especially excited to try Cousin’s Maine Lobster  since we’ve been craving a Connecticut lobster roll (served warm with butter and lemon) and they have gluten free options, but the real show stopper is Blast Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream! Using LN2 to crystalize their ingredients at super cold temperatues, the truck’s presentation is only outmatched by their commitment to using organic and local ingredients. As stated on their website, Blast “has a deep commitment to the environment, honesty in food, and keeping chemicals out of our ice cream and you!  We utilize local, organic farms whenever possible. We make our house chocolate fudge sauce using pure organic cocoa powder. Our house butterscotch is made with cane sugars and organic cream. The house marshmallow cream uses cage free eggs and organic vanilla. Even our molecular gastronomy techniques utilize natural ingredients!” Because organic ice cream is a slightly less guilty pleasure, right??
