This is not your typical joy ride! Founded by former WNBA player Michelle Greco to share her passion for biking and Santa Monica with others, Joy Ride (rated 5 stars on Yelp) offers 2.5 hour sunset tours along the bike path, cruising all the way down through Venice and the Canals and offering one of the best sunset views in the city. Maybe you’re a local who doesn’t have access to a bike (or the time and funds to get one!), or perhaps you are visiting LA and looking for a more active way to explore the city and learn about the history of Santa Monica without sitting on a bus for half the day. Or maybe you’re hosting your teenage niece and nephew and are looking for a way to tire them out so you don’t have to fall asleep to the sounds of Bachelor in Paradise reruns echoing from the living room until 2am.. And who knows, maybe you’ll catch some new Pokemon while you’re at it!

No matter who you are, this service allows you to enjoy the best our beaches have to offer in views, fitness and good company! 6pm tours are available for booking online every day at their Eventbrite page to take a spin on one of their newly customized beach cruisers – they even supply the helmet! If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can request a custom tour focused on a specific theme.

Who: Ages 13+ (under 18 must be accompanied by guardian), and pregnant guests are asked not to ride due to fall risks

Parking: structured parking is available at Santa Monica Place, or you can hop on the Metro and walk down!
