Day 47: Unique LA (DTLA)

Last year, some friends and I wandered downtown to the Unique LA market and thought it was an amazing snapshot of the Made in the USA movement here in Los Angeles. After driving around town to multiple shops to buy gifts for a friend, founder Sonja Rasula said, “It dawned on me that there needed to be a large-scale community shopping event where you could buy loads of cool, curated items in one place.” And the Unique markets were born! Here are some pics from last year:

This event is similar to the Artisanal LA market two weeks ago so you should definitely check it out if you couldn’t make it to Artisanal. From what I can tell, it is slightly less food-oriented and more goods-oriented, but we are still REALLY excited about some of the food vendors including Si Paletas, PUREnola, and Mallow Mallow s’mores! Some of the non-food vendors we will be looking for are Cactus Club Paper, ARE leather goods, Real Moroccan beauty products, Airplantman, Concrete Geometric, Folk Project home goods,  and Seoul Little jewelry.FotorCreated
