Hello everyone! Like many Californians, I’ve recently found myself even more invested than usual in the environmental impact of our gardens, lawns, and livelihoods because of the severe drought plaguing our beautiful state. The 7th Annual Green Garden Showcase, on April 25th from 10am-4pm, is the perfect chance to learn about sustainable gardening practices and celebrate our planet! Organized by the Mar Vista Community Council, the tour features five clusters of walkable (or bikeable) gardens featuring elements like drought-tolerant, CA native, and edible plants as well as chickens and beekeeping. These are some of the highlights my family and I are looking forward to: Solar panels from Solar City at 3840 Berryman Ave – Cluster 1I
